The Big 12 talents are among 10 semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to college football’s top receiver. Justin Blackmon, Ryan Broyles, and Kendall Wright are all candidates. These are all easy calls here. Blackmon and Broyles were two of the three finalist a year ago, and Wright’s been outstanding all season. They’re the Big 12’s only three receivers with more that 1,000 yards this season. It will be interesting to see how voters will treat Broyles since he will be missing the last two games of the regular schedule. Despite the injury, Broyles is still the Big 12 leader with 1,500 receiving yards, which is remarkable if you ask me. Good players always find a way to put up big numbers. Blackmon leads the Big 12 with 93 receptions and 1,142 yards, with 14 touchdowns. The 14 scores are tied for the leagues best. Even with Blackmon’s receiving yards being down it’s good to see that Weeden’s is a able to still put up huge numbers. Bedlam is right around the corner and i’m sure it will be a good one.
