The Red Hot chili Peppers are one of the best rock bands of all time. They are best known for the energetic punk-funk anthems. I started liking the band when my dad took me to my first rock concert at the age of eleven. I will never forget the buzz in the air. Since that concert, I have had a strong passion for rock music. The Chili Peppers introduced me to the world of rock n’ roll and that’s why I will always appreciate them. The band was formed in 1982 when the lead singer Anthony Kiedis and the bass player flea who met in high school, decided to start up a band. The guys all got together and started doing gigs in L.A. It was not an instant success, but they soon became recognized due to their unique clothing and their crazy antics. The Chili Peppers have had many members of its band for a while, founding member Hillel Slovak died from heroin overdose. A year after Slovak death, the Chili Peppers hit the charts big with the new release of Mother’s Milk. After that the Red Hot Chili Peppers released Blood Sugar Sex, which included songs Under the Bridge and Give it away. Once the first cd came out the rest followed. 1999’s Californication was another huge hit. Few rock groups of the 80’s broke down music like the Red Hot Chili Peppers did. Unfortunately, things were not always well with the band. Due to the drug issues with some of the group, the band always had different people filling in, so it caused drought in performances. Luckily, the band got back on track and hit the studio again to work on their 6th release. Yet, the band still had some personal issues concerning some of the members. Again, the Chili Peppers still found a way to keep the band going. After recent success the Red Hot Chili Peppers came out with a greatest hits cd, which included great songs like Fortune faded, Californication, and scar tissue. Once this cd came out I couldn’t stop listening to each track. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many of their works have had great critical acclaim. Their albums, Californication and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, have both ranked in Rolling Stone’ 500 greatest Albums Of All Time. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will always be my favorite band no matter what. I have been to many other rock concerts, but nothing compares to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The craziness and unique people in the band give them a characteristic that not many bands have. If you are not a fan of rock n roll I encourage you to go check out some of their songs and give it a chance. I promise, you won’t regret it.
